Before joining CFW, I was an activist and community organizer in Northwest Indiana. Through organizations around the NWI region, I primarily focused on improving immigrant and women’s rights. CFW, of course, holds a strong presence in Chicago, but recently, through our partnership with the Alphawood Foundation, we have expanded our freedom from violence portfolio. We now fund two of the only domestic violence shelters in the Northwest Indiana region. Having been a former resident and holding the knowledge of the area, I feel proud to bring my expertise to not only my team but also the site visits. Ultimately, I am not only furthering CFW’s mission and creating a better life for women and girls in Chicago, but also Northwest Indiana.
